A clean sweep

Mr. Charles Berry runs a janitors broom over the new wood floor he and his students installed at the Poston School last fall.

The Poston School, a one-room structure located at edge of the woods in rural Fleming County is getting a new life.
The school closed after the 1953-54 school term and remained empty for several years.

The Agriculture Department at Fleming County High School, under the direction of Mr. Charles Berry, has adopted this gem of a treasure as a class construction project.
Berry and his students approached the Browning family with an offer to restore the building and have been working on the project since last fall.

Restoring our Heritage

The old Poston one-room school is located in rural Fleming County near Browning's Orchard on KY-559.

Several Fleming County students in Mr. Charles Berry's Agriculture class have adopted this wonderful piece of local history as a renovation project.
